Best sword? axe?
new at this game, i have some idea what a good weapon looks like but what is the best?
---- Sword (pvp + pve) 15-22 strength and honor (is 10% max?) barb/cruel/sundering hilt (which is better in general?) sword pommel of fortitude +30 Axe(pvp use only) 6-28 str and honor 10% cruel for deep wound? axe grip fortitude +30? --- have a friend that said i should put health upgrades on weapons and armor upgrades on torso on legs idk any good swords, suggestions would be nice --- p.s. not looking for any fancy skins or specialty weapons, just wondering what the max/best stats on a sword/axe would look like. Is there anywhere in prophecies where u can farm for a 15-22 sword? Last edited by xxotic azn; Nov 08, 2010 at 11:22 AM // 11:22.. |

The best weapon is always the best weapon for the situation you are in and build you are using. Strength and Honor is maxed at 15%.
For example: In PvE one of the least sought after mods is +20% while hexed, but that can be the best weapon if you are in an area where there are so many hexes which are applied on you faster than your party can remove them you will be doing a constant +20% damage on your base damage. EDIT: HP as a Warrior is always good, but dont forget +Armor and Attribute runes as these are more important than +HP many times. Also note, that 2 +Attribute or +HP runes will not stack. You will only get the +attribute of the higher rune, but also the -HP of the higher attribute rune. The same is true for +HP runes. If you put on a +30HP rune and a +50 HP rune, you will only get +50 HP and the +30 HP rune you also have equipped will be ignored. however vitae runes will stack with each other as will survivor insignias the "best" all around sword will be 15-22 dmg, 15%over 50%health, +30, with front end modifier of choice axe same except 6-28dmg where you put runes an your armor really only matters with a helm where you will want your weapon rune on it (generally) |

If you mean also dmg wise 15-22 sword is max base dmg and axe is 6-28 - players always have a preference for fancy skins etc which doesnt affect dmg.

You can get max weapons from collectors, who usually want 5 trophies (skree wings, minotaur horns, etc) for them. There are also crafters of max weapons, where you pay them something like 5000 gold and provide the materials and they build the weapon. Check the wiki for locations, details, etc, depending on which chapter(s) you have and how far into the game you've made it.
Players sell crud in the major towns. Kamadan especially, Lions Arch maybe, Kaineng less and less. They usually try to sell the more popular skins though. If you advertise "WTB max sword ugly okay" you'll probably get some offers. If you are new and strapped for cash, then the requirement 9 may be skipped for cost savings. If your sword skill is 12+ anyway, req 9 or 10 doesn't matter. You can also look on the auction here in Guru's, see tabs at top. There are other sources - opening gifts from Nick, quest rewards(?), chests, Elonan Treasures. Just the collectors and crafters are sure things. |

is there any area in prophecies where you can farm a 15-22 sword or 6-28 axe?
---- I know prophecies areas better than the other campaigns. |

Not specifically. Random drops are random drops.
I scanned through the collectors for you and see you can get a max sword at Senji's Corner for 5 Celestial Essences. The ones in Prophecies are either stance or while enchanted modifiers. 5 Mandragor Husks will get you one in Elona. If you want to craft one, go to Droknar's Forge. This stuff is all on the wiki. |

A good source of max weapons are the various green (unique) quality items. In prophecies there are two main sources of green items: the bosses in sorrows furnace and grenths footprint, and the end boss in tomb of primeval kings. If you've made your way to the tomb of primeval kings, you can usually buy victo's sword, axe, hammer and bulwark for about 1k-2k each from the ecto farmers who hang out there.

if you insist on farming the sword / axe yourself I suggest doing so in Nightfall or Eye of the north because the gold weapon drops have inscription slots. (you could always just buy a sword with the mods you want from others players its probaly cheaper then buying one from a weaponsmith.

I beleive for pvp and pve The best choice for just about anything is hammer. Preferable Earth Shaker, by using this skill you are creating a 3 second KD effect on nearby foes making them unable to channel, attack or move for 3 seconds giving your team a huge advantage.

I suppose if you were going to restrict yourself to one weapon (all good Warriors have several different swords, axes, and hammers (plus a spear, and maybe a scythe if you want one) to swap to depending on the circumstance).

I doubt your statement is true for PvP either.

Speaking of 100 Blades (my favorite warrior build, especially with Whirlwind attack and splinter weapon cast on you), if you have an energy heavy build, you should get Zelous (+1 en per hit) vs life stealing.
Again, it all depends on the situation, and you have 4 weapon slots (use one for longbow for pulling), so the best players have several sets they switch out depending on the situation. |

Hammer is the best choice for casual PvP, because knockdowns are devastating to 1-healer teams, you can flail through empathy and not frenzy, you have the potential to knocklock annoying anti-melee guys instead of yelling at your bad or non-existent monk to clean you, and the advantages of spiking in absence of an organized team is marginal. In factions modes that emphasize running around, the front-loading from common adrenaline skills like enraging charge is great, and you've got a better shot at soloing enemies when they are knocked down than anything else. In organized formats most balanced teams have at least one, sometimes two these days for slightly different reasons.
